Unfortunately, not much to report on the GM search front. It continues to be extremely quiet.
That said, the Leafs will need to find someone new to run their power play.
Guest co-host Carter Hutton and I kicked off the Tuesday edition of Leafs Morning Take by previewing the Stanley Cup Final between the Florida Panthers and the Vegas Golden Knights. After that, we dove into the breaking news: Washington hired Leafs Assistant Spencer Carbery to be their head coach. The 41-year-old ran Toronto’s PP the past two seasons. Is it time to fire up the Bruce Boudreau conversation once again? Hmm.
Additionally, Hockey YouTuber Steve Dangle (Steve Dangle Podcast Network) stopped by for a chat. We touched on Auston Matthews, the Dubas/Shanahan drama, and the GM search. As per usual, Steve had a lot to say. The next five weeks should be mighty interesting.
Lastly, for the Betano Wrap Up, I’m playing the Blue Jays run line tonight in Milwaukee.
Join Carter Hutton & me once again on Wednesday at 11 AM ET.
