Time to exhale, we now know that Dmytro Timashov…
Timashov hasn’t exactly done much since the preseason, and while he was a favourite of Mike Babcock, he’s been decidedly less enjoyed by Sheldon Keefe.
As for Detroit, they are definitely in sell everything mode, and Timashov is a cheap way to help them ice a full roster. He’ll get his chance to play for a Mike Babcock protege, so maybe he can avoid the pressbox.
The good news is this frees up another contract space for the Leafs.
It’s also interesting that the first team eligible to claim Timashov did, and maybe we’ll hear that other teams also submitted claims, not that it changes anything.
