Greyhounds hire Leafs, Marlies video coach

It was announced yesterday that the OHL’s Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds hired Leafs and Marlies video coach Ryan Ward as an Assistant Coach.

Ward has served as a video coach for both the Maple Leafs and Marlies over the past two seasons, working with the likes of Mike Babcock, Gord Dineen, and Sheldon Keefe.

I don’t think it means anything, but this of course just adds another small bit to the Leafs-Greyhounds connection that’s existed over the past couple of seasons, particularly through former Greyhounds GM Kyle Dubas, who now of course is an Assistant GM with the Leafs.

Ward previously spent one season at the University of Rhode Island as an Assistant Coach.
