Keeping with the whole trade deadline theme, we thought the timing was perfect to make a major announcement.
Firstly, TheLeafsNation family is ecstatic to welcome Zack Phillips to the team. The Ontario native comes to us by way of his Third Man In channel, one that has quickly rose to prominence in the hockey YouTube world since its creation this past September. Essentially, Zack’s a one man show. Since the season opener against the Montreal Canadiens, he’s been offering up his very own post-game recap show, which has become a destination for Leafs Nation. Through 60 games, it’s been a rollercoaster season. Intentionally or not, Zack’s forum has acted as a much-needed safe-space for a fan base starving for a winner.
With all that in mind, starting Monday following the Leafs/Bruins game, Zack will be hosting the debut edition of our brand-new post-game show: TheLeafsNation After Dark. If you’re unfamiliar with The Nation Network platform, we have a variety of different After Dark programs, specifically out west in Edmonton and Calgary, respectively.
All in all, our new venture will act as your go-to source for all your post-game needs. Win or loss, Zack will be there to pick up the pieces. Through his work, he does a fantastic job of connecting with his audience, all while dissecting the good, the bad, the ugly from each and every Toronto Maple Leafs performance. In addition to executing his own show, Zack will be providing TLN with preview videos heading into each contest.
On top of all that, you can expect tons of cohesion and cross-over between TheLeafsNation After Dark and Leafs Morning Take. What that means essentially is that Nick Alberga and Jay Rosehill will routinely guest on Zack’s After Dark show, and vice versa.
With the NHL trade deadline just a few short days away and the stretch drive to the Stanley Cup Playoffs certainly within sight, it’s an exciting time in Leafs Nation.
Let’s rock!
