LGD: Fighting 20 Duck Sized Ducks

The Toronto Maple Leafs are doing a lot of good things defensively right now. Over the past three games, the Leafs have given up just 66 shots against; a mark they haven’t even come close to in three years (guess what the variable is). They’re going to need that prowess to continue tonight, however, as they take on the Anaheim Ducks.

I guess we’ll see if Leo actually plays tonight after his in and out and back in trip to the dressing room in Los Angeles. Beyond that, it looks like practically the same roster as the other night.

Patrick Maroon has one of the best passenger roles in the NHL, eh? I feel like anybody could pick up points on Getzlaf and Perry’s wing. The second line features “bad Bourque” and “good Palmieri”, which is a nice little yin/yang setup.
Starting Goalies
Jonathan Bernier vs. Frederik Andersen is the likely matchup. Anderson has been one of the better success stories of this season, putting up slightly above average numbers at plenty below average investment. Jonathan Bernier has nice hair and stops tons of puck for Toronto.
What to Watch For
The Ducks still haven’t retired Paul Kariya’s number, so watch for me screaming at them to do that throughout the game from my bedroom.
