Marty Turco thinks the Leafs need a Scott Wedgewood type to combo with Joseph Woll: Leafs Morning Take

The Dallas Stars are now two wins away from advancing to the Stanley Cup Final.

Carter Hutton filled in for Jay Rosehill on the Tuesday edition of Leafs Morning Take. We kicked off the show by dissecting Game 3 of the Western Conference Final. It was a wild one —that’s for sure. Edmonton took a quick 2-0 lead in the first before Dallas responded for three straight goals in the second period. Then, Adam Henrique tied it late in the frame. Utimately, Jason Robertson’s hat-trick goal in the third stood as the difference as the Stars grabbed a 2-1 series lad.

Presented by Greta Bar YYZ, former Stars netminder Marty Turco dropped by the show. We talked Jason Robertson, Jake Oettinger, Joseph Woll, some potential crease options for the Leafs, the Craig Berube hire, and what the Leafs should do with Mitch Marner this summer.

Meantime, we also broke down some quotes from Sheldon Keefe’s introductory press conference in New Jersey. The 43-year-old, who was making his first public appearance since being fired, shared a few details on how everything went down and how he was feeling about the entire situation. Once again, Keefe was so classy in how he handled everything.

Lastly, thanks to Wendy’s, we broke down the viral picture of Craig Berube and Mitch Marner having a coffee together. Predictably, upon its release, the photo sent social media into a frenzy. Unsurprisingly, people are reading way too much into it all. Believe it or not, this type of stuff happens a lot. At the end of the day, Berube’s just doing his job and covering all his basis with crazy season in the NHL just around the corner.
