After a successful weekend to wrap up their five game homestand, the Leafs have officially touched down in Sweden ahead of their two NHL Global Series games later this week.
The buzz is starting to build, especially for the Nylander family.
We kicked off the Tuesday edition of Leafs Morning Take by discussing Toronto’s trip overseas. For many of these players, this will be a once in a life-time opportunity. As mentioned, William Nylander will get a chance to play in front of his family and friends, something he doesn’t get to do often while in North America.
Presented by DoorDash, The Appetizer focused on what we saw from the Leafs over the weekend against Calgary and Vancouver, respectively. They’re not out of the woods by any stretch, but they got the job done in the back-to-back, and sometimes, that’s all that matters.
Meantime, brought to you by the Wendy’s Daily Faceoff Survivor, we got into Nikita Zadorov’s trade request through his agent (Dan Millstein) on Twitter following Friday night’s game. Calculated or not, for a variety of reasons, there’s no question that the Leafs make a lot of sense as a logical landing spot for the Russian rearguard.

After that, thanks to SOBER CARPENTER, we played our interview with Fraser Minten. It was nice to connect with the newly minted captain of the Kamloops Blazers captain. Of course, the 19-year-old had himself quite the start to his hockey season. Incredibly, he fought through the odds to crack Toronto’s opening night roster. We looked back at that, plus much more.
