Brendan Leipsic claimed by Vegas Golden Knights

Jun 21, 2017, 21:37 EDTUpdated: Jun 21, 2017, 21:40 EDT
Well, all the reports and speculation ended up being true. The Vegas Golden Knights have selected Brendan Leipsic as their player from the Toronto Maple Leafs, with no side deals involved.
Leipsic finished second in points on the Toronto Marlies this year, with 24 games in hand on Kerby Rychel, who outscored him by one. The 22-year-old left winger had 18 goals, 33 assists, and 51 points in 49 games, missing time midway through the season with a concussion suffered in the winter.
The Leafs originally acquired Leipsic from the Nashville Predators in 2015, along with Olli Jokinen and a 1st round pick (traded to Philadelphia) in exchange for Mike Santorelli and Cody Franson.
