Whoever the Toronto Maple Leafs hire to be their next general manager will have a lot of work to do this summer.
Beyond looking for ways to improve the team, the Leafs have eight forwards, five defencemen, and one goaltender who are set to become unrestricted free agents on July 1 and the next general manager will need to decide who’s coming back and who they’re letting go.
Seven of Toronto’s UFAs appeared on Daily Faceoff’s Top 50 Free Agents list: No. 5 Michael Bunting, No. 9 Ryan O’Reilly, No. 28 Alex Kerfoot, No. 30 Luke Schenn, No. 37 David Kampf, No. 45 Erik Gustafsson, and No. 46 Justin Holl.
