Coming off a lacklustre 4-1 loss to the Boston Bruins, the Leafs will finish off their five-game homestand on Wednesday night when they host the Buffalo Sabres.
Chaos has entered the chat. As we’ve seen time and time again, Toronto and Buffalo are incapable of playing a quiet hockey game.
At any rate, Anthony Stewart was in for Jay Rosehill on the Wednesday edition of Leafs Morning Take. We kicked off the show by discussing the trade deadline and how weird it is for a player this time of year. Also, we welcomed Tim Hortons as a sponsorship partner! RRROLLL up the rim is back for Tims’ 60th anniversary! Play today on the Tims app.
Presented by Door Dash, The Appetizer focused on some of the news and notes from Leafs practice. David Kampf, among others, are considered game-time decisions. Once again, it sounds like the flu bug is reaping havoc on the room. Furthermore, it will be interesting to see if Noah Gregor gets back. He’s been a healthy scratch for six in a row and seven of eight. Additionally, we touched on Conor Timmins and Mark Giordano, who are both back skating after their bouts with mono and a concussion, respectively.
Meantime, brought to you by the Wendy’s Daily Faceoff Survivor, we previewed Toronto’s third of four meetings with the rival Sabres this season. Buckle up: The first two meetings have produced 22 goals. In fact, seven straight meetings between these two squads have hit the over (6.5). Ilya Samsonov will get the call in goal.
After that, David Pagnotta (The Fourth Period/NHL Network/SiriusXM NHL Network Radio) dropped by to dish on what the Leafs may do over the next few days ago. We touched on Colton Parayko, Sean Walker, David Savard, the Kunin/Ferraro combo in San Jose, and if Nick Robertson could be on the way out.
Jay Rosehill will be back in the mix for the Thursday edition of Leafs Morning Take. We’ll recap Leafs/Bruins plus look ahead to the second game of the back-to-back in Boston. Also, the one and only Elliotte Friedman will drop by for a last minute Maple Leafs trade deadline primer.
