According to Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun and his sources, Kyle Dubas, William Nylander, and their representatives are meeting in Switzerland today.
With Nylander training in Sweden currently, Switzerland acts as a neutral site to further discuss a new contract.
Certain reports today also, from James Mirtle of the Athletic, have pointed towards a bridge deal being the most likely scenario to happen at this point. Especially with the season already underway, I’m sure both parties will want to have an agreement as soon as possible. Even if it means having a temporary solution.
As for the meeting today in Switzerland, it was speculated yesterday when a fan put it out on Twitter that they heard Nylander’s name over the intercom in a Zurich airport. An odd scenario, but now that Hornby has reported on it and both Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger of TSN have retweeted his article, it looks like this is more than just a rumour.
I hope they both enjoy their stay in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
