The only way the @Toronto Maple Leafs will be trading F @Kasperi Kapanen is if it’s in a big deal that makes them significantly better, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Wednesday.
The report came in his weekly 31 thoughts column.
There’s been a lot of talk about Kasperi Kapanen, but the sense around the NHL is the only way Toronto moves him now is in a big deal. Something that makes them significantly better.
Kapanen’s name has been in the rumor mill lots lately and at times, has been linked to @New York Rangers G @Alexander Georgiev.
Kapanen has put up 10 goals and 18 assists in 49 games for the Leafs this season as a third-liner who likely could play a top-six role and succeed in doing so. The Maple Leafs are right for holding onto Kapanen for a “big deal.”
His value is as high as it’s ever been whether it’s to the team, or on the trade market.
