In case you missed the incident, Auston Matthews was involved in a collision last night with a combination of Adam Pelech and Cal Clutterbuck late in the third period.
Today, as expected, Matthews was not on the ice at practice.
The most interesting move here is a mix between Josh Leivo slotting into the lineup ahead of Matt Martin and William Nylander immediately hopping into a centre role, with Connor Brown taking his place on the wing. But wait? Kasperi Kapanen now alongside JVR and Bozak? What a new-look team.
Head coach Mike Babcock confirmed the injury as a shoulder injury…

But didn’t seem all that down about it.
Mike Babcock's message for Auston Matthews: "Put a smile on your face. You get healthier quicker when you’re smiling. He’s a passionate guy, he wants to play. I’m not very concerned about him, he’s fine. We were joking around in there a minute ago. He’ll be ready to go."
