Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll received a maintenance day and did not practice Tuesday.
Woll has been operating as the Maple Leafs’ No. 1 goaltender and has started in Toronto’s past four games. The 26-year-old is 17-8-0 on the year with a .907 save percentage and is facing the largest volume of starts of his young career, while Dennis Hildeby serves as his backup. It seems likely that Woll will start again Wednesday, although it wouldn’t be too surprising for Hildeby to get into a game, with his last appearance coming on January 11 in a loss to the Vancouver Canucks.
Connor Dewar is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, head coach Craig Berube confirmed. Max Pacioretty will also miss his second consecutive game, after taking a puck to the side of his head during Saturday’s win over the Montreal Canadiens.
Fraser Minten will remain in the lineup on a line with Max Domi and Nick Robertson. Minten was stellar in his return to action during Tuesday’s win against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
“I thought he played a solid game for us,” Berube said of Minten after Tuesday’s win. “That line did us some good things, had energy at times, and had some chances. They were pretty good. He was solid. It was his first game back, and it has been a while. To me, he was in the right position all night. Pretty solid all-around game from him. I was happy with him.”
It appears Ryan Reaves will be taking Dewar’s place in the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets as well. Reaves has posted two assists in 29 games this season and the fourth line clearly generates better results without him in the lineup.
John Tavares isn’t skating yet and remains week-to-week with a lower-body injury. Tavares was placed on injured reserve on January 16, and is ineligible to return until January 23. Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli reported that Tavares is facing a 2-3 week timeline in his recovery.

Here is the Maple Leafs’ projected lineup against the Blue Jackets
