Things in Boston are probably pretty good these days. It’s Super Bowl Sunday, which instead of becoming a once-in-a-generation experience like, you know, most sports fans have to deal with, they’re in the game for the eighth time in a little over two decades.
And for those in Massachusetts who also care about hockey, well, their NHL team is looking like one of the league’s best right now and handed it to the Leafs last night.
There’s not a ton of effort to talk about a hockey game where the Leafs didn’t even really score, and got outshot 30-24, though it definitely felt like more than that. They hit the post once, but mostly were completely overmatched by a very good Boston team.

1-0 Bruins (Patrice Bergeron goal)

Haven’t you just had enough of Patrice Bergeron?

1-1 (Charlie McAvoy goal)

Even though Mitch Marner gets credit for this one, it seems disingenuous to award him the goal

2-1 Bruins (David Pastrnak goal)

Power play goals against make you hate yourself a little bit, no?

3-1 Bruins (Torey Krug goal)

Case in point.
The Bruins would also add an empty netter, which you don’t really need to see.
The Leafs head back to action tomorrow night against the Ducks and Randy Carlyle at home.
