Muzzin will wear #8 for the Leafs

Jan 29, 2019, 15:50 EST
With the Leafs on their bye week and Dubas making the most important trade of his career so far, there needs to be some housekeeping.
Per Leafs PR, the newly-acquired defenceman Jake Muzzin will be wearing number eight for his time with the Leafs.
Most recently worn by Connor Carrick, the number has some fond memories attached to it in team history. Worn by a total of 36 different players, the first player to wear it for the club was Sid Smith back in 1951.
Aki Berg, Mike Komisarek, Carlo Colaiacovo, and Todd Warriner are just some examples of players that have worn the number in somewhat recent history.
The Leafs face the Detroit Red Wings on Friday, February 1st and we will catch our first glimpse of Muzzin on the ice wearing number eight for the Leafs.
