Okay everybody, take a deep breath, and relax.
We did the thing again. We went into Boston and, when we needed to, got the victory. Now we head home with an opportunity to finish the job. Let’s take a closer look at how they did.
1st Period
The Leafs did an excellent job in the first of keeping the game tight, holding the Bruins to just six shots through the first, with some excellent defensive plays.

Also, Andersen was solid when needed.

2nd Period
The second period saw much of the same, as it was a tightly played game, but we did start to see more chances.

That didn’t help our heart problems, but the Leafs kept it scoreless going into the third.
3rd Period
We all want to die at this point, and it looks like the next goal will win the game.
Luckily for us, we got the next goal.
We finally have the icebreaker. Hyman takes a hit and Matthews blasts it in the slot. 1-0 Leafs. #LeafsForever
Jake Muzzin fakes the shot, walks in and gives an excellent feed to Auston Matthews, who gets his fourth goal of the series to give the Leafs a 1-0 lead- wait, it’s getting challenged.
Hyman appeared to fall into Rask, but it seemed to be mostly from a lack of balance, and Rask was a bit too much out of the crease anyways. Good goal.
And before we could get too nervous about how close it was, Kappy did us a favour as well.
Kasperi Kapanen finally snaps the snide. What a three way passing play in transition. 2-0 Leafs. #LeafsForever
Rielly and Johnsson make a great give and go in the zone, and Mango sets up Kappy for a cross-crease feed to make it 2-0 with a bit over six minutes left.

Who wore the Crown?
After every Leaf game, we’re recognizing one Leaf player who best exemplified what it means to play hockey the “Toronto Way”: with heart and soul, above all else. Who wore the Crown is brought to you by Crown Royal, passionate fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Today, it goes to #24. Weird pick, I know. But, he played very well, had a 71.43% 5v5 CF%, and got the game winning goal, which at the time made Leafs Nation breathe easy. He hasn’t had a good series, but he did a much better job of creating chances, and capitalizing on his.
The Leafs did a good job of maintaining possession at 5v5, although the Bruins did get the better chances. It seemed like that and the Bruins getting the favourable calls would help them, but the few chances the Leafs had, they scored, and at the end of the day, that’s what matters.
Up next, the Leafs have a chance to close out the series at home, as a weird 3pm start time awaits them on Sunday.
