Roundtable: what’s one thing to play for over the final 5 games?

The Leafs clinched a playoff spot last night and are all but locked into third place in the Atlantic Division. So we asked our staff… what’s one thing to play for over the final 5 games?
That’s Kappy!
Playing McElhinney against the Devils and dunking on their playoff hopes before playing him against the Habs in the season finale and shutting them out again. Please do this.

Pride. And also play McElhinney because Freddie needs a rest.
We also need to win games because that’s the point.
I’m also drunk for Easter so go Leafs go!

Use it as a tune-up. You know you’re in, now’s the time to tweak things here and there, AND you get the luxury of giving guys a rest if they need it. You want to be as healthy as possible going into the playoffs, and while we’re at it — get Freddie a breather too. You don’t want to limp into the playoffs obviously, but it’s not the worst idea to conserve energy here.

At this point, use it to rest the players that need it. Swap in Carrick for. Hainsey and Polak, give Freddy a rest after this weekend, play Leivo and Martin to rest other hurt forwards, etc. Keep winning obviously, because it’s good to stay hot going into the playoffs, but rest the guys who need some rest
