Talking Dubas, Keefe, and Babcock: Leafs Morning Take

With a new GM now in place, the hard work and heavy lifting will begin in earnest for Brad Treliving and company.
Lucky for us, there was a couple things to chew on from over the weekend.
We kicked off the Monday edition of Leafs Morning Take by talking about the busy six weeks ahead for the Maple Leafs. They’ll have their work cut out for themselves —that’s for sure. Of course, the big decisions will be made near the end of the month as July 1st and free agency approaches.
Of note, it sounds like the Leafs and Sheldon Keefe have kept close contact for the past week since everything went down. If I were to handicap things, that certainly bodes well for his future behind Toronto’s bench. On top of that, all the coaching vacancies are now pretty much accounted for it. We’ll see what happens, but I’d probably put good money on Keefe staying put.
Speaking of bench bosses, remember Mike Babcock? Yeah, it sounds like the 60-year-old could be returning to the NHL as the head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets in a move that likely won’t go down until his contract with the Leafs officially expires at the end of the month. Suffice it is to say, I feel terribly for Johnny Gaudreau and Patrick Laine.
Lastly, for the Betano Wrap Up, both Rosey and I are feeling a Florida bounce-back victory tonight in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final.
Join us on Tuesday at 11 AM ET for more exciting and exhilarating Leafs talk. Additionally, we may have a very special guest join us for the third time. Tune in!
