Okay, well, we’re still a few weeks away from when the Leafs have to offer out extensions to #34 and #16.
Maybe a year away?
The Leafs can’t officially start negotiating contracts with Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews until July 1, and even then, they still have another year with the two young stars on their entry-level deals.
Yesterday while on the radio, TSN’s Darren Dreger spewed out this information:
While it’s only speculation at this point, it’s probably not too far off from what the actual dollar figures will be.
So the question is, what kind of deal would you offer to the two young boys in blue? Do you try to lock them up for eight years, or do you look to go for a bridge deal? Who do you see as a suitable cap hit comparable around the league?
