That trend might allay concerns about the possible absence of No. 1 center Auston Matthews (hand, day-to-day). On Saturday, the John Tavares-Joe Thornton-Mitch Marner and Alex Kerfoot-Alexander Barabanov-William Nylander lines were both efficient.
