It’s weird not having Maple Leafs hockey to talk about.
At least they carried a three-game winning streak into the bye week/ All-Star break.
Suffice it is to say, the feeling within Leafs Nation is much better than it was a week ago at this time.
Jay Rosehill was back in the mix for the Tuesday edition of Leafs Morning Take. We kicked of the show by promoting our live shows on Thursday and Friday – February 1st & 2nd – from the Seagram’s VO Whisky Studio at SponsorshipX. We can’t wait!
Presented by Door Dash, for The Appetizer, we discussed where the Leafs are at right now. All in all, it’s been a mixed bag from Sheldon Keefe’s bunch. They’ve been consistently inconsistent, and in the grand scheme of things, that’s probably not a good thing. Furthermore, the conversation veered into a wild direction where we discussed Tyler Bertuzzi’s worth, why it’s time to split up the Core Four, and if Brendan Shanahan deserves more blame than he’s been getting. It was a riveting chat. Source: Trust me, bro.
Next, brought to you by the Wendy’s Daily Faceoff Survivor, we dissected Elliotte Friedman’s recent comments from the 32 Thoughts podcast. Essentially, the NHL Insider disclosed that while Toronto continues to search for defensive help, at this point, they’re not open to mortgaging the future to achieve that objective. We’ll see what happens.
Meantime, thanks to our friends over at BATL Axe, TSN Leafs Reporter Mark Masters dropped by for his first appearance of the season. We talked All-Star, Auston Matthews, and if the Leafs should go all-in at the trade deadline.
