Gavin McKenna will headline a 53-man roster for the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 2026 Development Camp, the team confirmed Monday. Toronto will host 29 forwards, 18 defencemen and six goaltenders at this year’s camp. The camp is scheduled from July 1-4.
McKenna, the first overall selection in the 2026 NHL Draft, headlines a revamped prospect pool. The entire 10-man 2026 class will be attending. Among the other notable inclusions are Tinus Luc Koblar, Toronto’s second-round pick from the 2025 NHL Draft, who headlines the five players from his cohort. Miroslav Holinka leads a group of six attendees from the 2024 NHL Draft, while Nick Moldenhauer is the lone attendee from the 2022 NHL Draft.
Vincent Borgesi, Brandon Buhr and Hayes Hundley are the three players invited who are currently signed to a NHL contract, while 26 free agents round out the rest of this year’s camp.
Maple Leafs assistant general manager Hayley Wickenheiser is running this year’s camp. Wickenheiser has been prominently involved in Toronto’s player development department since 2018. McKenna is the clear headliner, as a foundational piece for the Maple Leafs, who is expected to play primarily with Auston Matthews and John Tavares next fall. Alexander Bilecki won a Memorial Cup with the Kitchener Rangers and was selected 60th overall in the 2026 NHL Draft. Toronto was universally lauded by prospect analysts for the overall quality and depth of its class, receiving an A+ from Daily Faceoff’s Steven Ellis.
