In the movie, “The Sandlot” they say that “heroes get remembered but legends never die.” For a group of former Maple Leafs, their legacy will live on for a long, long time. A select group of names has been added to Legends Row outside of the Air Canada Centre.
Charlie Conacher, Red Kelly, Frank Mahovlich and Wendel Clark will all get that honor before a game on Thursday.
Conacher is a part of the Hockey Hall of Fame and put up 398 points in 459 games almost entirely with the Maple Leafs. I
n over 1,000 games, Red Kelly put up over 800 points. Kelly split his career between the Detroit Red Wings and the Maple Leafs, he is also part of the Hockey Hall of Fame.
In over 1,100 games, Mahovlich put up over 1,100 points and made the Hockey Hall of Fame as well. He was also a six-time Stanley Cup champion.
Clark in just under 800 games scored 564 points and was a three-time captain of the Maple Leafs.
